Charles “Chad”  Everingham

Of Counsel

Chad blends humor and relatability seamlessly, always finding a moment to laugh. When planning and executing litigation, however, he admits it’s all business. Chad is deeply conscious of the seriousness of what occurs in the courtroom and recognizes his responsibility to craft winning strategies for his clients.

Now in an Of Counsel role with Miller Fair Henry, the former magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Texas says he enjoys practicing with lawyers he has admired for years, including his mentor, Judge T. John Ward. Early in his career, Chad served as Judge Ward’s permanent law clerk, and now he is working with what he describes as the best legal team imaginable.

As a judge and trial attorney, Chad has handled complex patent litigation, intellectual property matters, and commercial cases, earning a reputation as one of the best lawyers in these fields.  After overseeing one of the busiest patent litigation courts, his transition back to private practice provides his clients with a valuable perspective from both sides of the bench.

Chad enjoys spending time supporting his wife’s service as the Executive Director of CASA of Harrison County and watching his children grow into their careers as they mature into young, more self-sufficient, adults. A music enthusiast, Chad’s love for playing guitar matches his dedication to the law, and when he isn’t practicing law, he’s likely learning new songs or spending time on the water, either fishing or boating.
